Research projects
2008-2009: Principal investigator for the Danish research project ‘Skolebørnsundersøgelsen Århus, 2008’, a joined project with Århus Kommune. Questionnaire data on health, health behaviour and well-being were collected among 2100 school children aged 11, 13 and 15. Objectively data on height and weight were collected for validation studies of self-reported data on height and weight.
2003-2006: Member of the Danish team participating in the EU-funded European project: PRO Children, an international research project among nine European countries. The aim of the PRO Children was to study 1) the level of fruit and vegetable intake among European children aged 11and 2) to identify and investigate determinants of fruit and vegetable intake among children and adolescents.
Since 1998: Member of the research project Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC)– an international WHO associated research project now including 43 countries. The overall aim of the HBSC is to study the health, health behaviour and well-being among children and adolescents in their social contexts. Cross-sectional questionnaire data are collected every fourth year by the application of an internationally standardized protocol. From 2005, leader of scientific working group and member of Scientific Development Group. Since 2006, member of the International Coordinating Committee. From 2006, Danish vice-principal investigator.
